This Nidra Teacher Training is composed by 2 Modules delivered along 5 weekends. We will deepen Nidra knowledge has through a combination of theory and practice, expanding on the concepts touched upon in the introductory section so that you will gain a broad understanding of all the facets of Yoga Nidra and the tools that you require to teach safely and with confidence.
Knowing all the risks and safety guidelines can create a suitable environment for the students to explore their deeper selves through the practice of Yoga Nidra. The Nidra practice can alter actions, behaviours, personalities and perceptions. It can heal emotional traumas and reduce psychological limitations. And as students are led to a deeper connection with their consciousness and gain access to their most sensitive areas of being, it is crucial for teachers to have received the necessary training to manage this delicate stage of contact.
We will study the different lineages and structures of Nidra, from the time of its origin to the various methods and techniques of today, while delving deeper into the physiology and neuroscience of the form in relation to the teaching practice. In turn, we will address all of the various practical elements of developing and supporting a class in an instructional environment, equipping you with the necessary skills along the way.
You will learn how to provide a safe environment; what the safe psychological guidelines are and what to avoid. You will be taught how to prepare a Nidra script and how to set an intention and theme; adapted to each individual and group, and free from influential language so as to allow your students to model their own experiences and embody the truths which are their own. You will experience Nidra intensely and in different forms, with invited teachers to share settings as Nidra 2 voices, singing Bowls and mantras.
This training will involve some dedication and self-study. It is not only about learning how to teach but will be a deeper journey of your own. You will be required to practice daily and record your observations, and we will get to know and open ourselves to the group – in a certain moment engaging together in a creative practice of liberation to find, plant and nurture our own seeds of self-realization.
Ultimately, you will share your own script and run through Nidra and Art-Therapy exercises to uncover the layers that hide your purpose, it is an intense journey into yourself and a blissful inner-discovery.
It is a 2 days intensive workshop opened to everyone: Nidra lovers, teachers, psychologists, doctors, healers... In this section we will look into the different structures of Nidra, it's history, philosophy, and what happens to the brain- functions and consciousness when it’s in the deep Nidra state, and; we will discuss the difference between Nidra and Hypnosis plus various applications of themes – as methods to achieve different goals.
Finally, you will gain a greater understanding of these different branches of Nidra and their blissful effect on your body and mind as you participate in several intensive practice sessions, learning in conjunction how to build your own practice and integrate the Yoga Nidra experience into your everyday personal life.
Is important to understand that in this 2 days you will not have the tools to teach Nidra, that will come into Module 2.
In this module I just want you to get absorbed in the Nidra practice. We will perform between 8 to 12 Nidras, depending on the evolution and requirements that rise during the weekend.
Yoga Nidra is a state of consciousness between waking and sleep. The Nidra practice can be used to simply help remove tensions and relax a busy mind, or it can be used to delve deeper and observe our greatest resistances, needs and purposes; a practice where we can access our subconscious or unconscious mind with open awareness and plant seeds that can have a positive bearing on our everyday personal lives. Due to this privileged access to the deep consciousness however, the Nidra practice should always be properly guided in a safe environment with the support of a knowledgeable practitioner.
This module is for those who have successfully completed at least 200HYTT or want to integrate 50H Restorative Yoga Teacher Training into your 300YTT in Tula studio.
It is an intensive exploration of ways of using Restorative practice for self-care and development, giving you the tools to safely take students into deepening this practice of relaxation and release. It will be held over a three-weekend period and have approximately 50 hours of contact. Some of the content being part of Yoga Therapy Training Course.
There will be a blend of theory and practice of this approach of yoga restorative with an emphasis firmly on:
The intensive practice of experiencing many yoga restorative sessions unique to the course.
Theory, to understand what the reasoning is for this approach.
Exploration of developing methods of restorative postures.
Receiving guidance on how to craft one’s own unique restorative practice and sequencing.
Understanding the how and why of what makes Yoga restorative work.
Below are some of the topics that will be covered during the course:
> How Restorative Yoga works- overview and explication. There will be an introduction to neuroscience in relation to Restorative. This will be done via theory and through absorbing it by experiencing it in practice.
> Self-healing, a multi-level sophisticated approach (working in a transcendentally visceral embodied manner with regard to the practices used. We tend to under-perform because too much is asked of us, because we push ourselves too hard and because we neither rest enough nor sleep enough. This approach shows how to deliberately carve a space in our ridiculously busy and over stressed lives in order to rest, to heal and allow ourselves the space to be, rather than to be in a space where it’s essentially about doing and not being, strengthening the disconnect we have from our true inner selves, the part of us that makes us who we truly are.
> Doing Restorative for oneself, actively rather than passively relying on an external voice with liberating and potentially cathartic results. Learn how to do this without having to rely on an external source or voice in an effective manner. There are various approaches to doing this that have been worked out.
> Pranayma and Restorative. The use of breath in restorative is essential. What it does, why it’s important and how to use it pragmatically and effectively to alter physiology for a deeper experience of trance and healing. Very particular forms of breathing suitable for Restorative will be explored within practices.

> A precise use of language both as an objective way to discern one’s own inner feelings, thoughts and positions without cognitive blocking or rationalising and as a therapeutic tool for self-enquiry. The introduction, experience of and application of clean language in a restorative context, for oneself and as an adjunct to therapeutic self-exploration. It is a way of uncovering why we are as we are, what our motivations are, where we our tendencies are likely to take us and how we can choose to consciously direct the course of our lives, if we wish, using this disarmingly simple yet very profound approach in the setting.
> Introduction to an understanding of the role of trance in Restorative in both formal and non-formal settings. This will be introduced in an easy yet effective manner.
> Mapping, re-mapping, and other realities. This is a way of exploring our relation to ourselves and to the world by accessing neural pathways in the brain in new, exciting and powerful ways. In this section there will be an exploration of mapping the body as an extremely powerful tool for self-change. This explores the wonderful and very potent power for transformational work. It can be a visionary way of connecting with one’s view of themselves and the world.

> Bringing it all together. Creating your own practice. Here there will be a tying up of loose ends and consolidating the learnings of the previous three days.

Before illness usually one encounters physical and emotional or mental challenge, Nidra can be helpful to overcome this times with more awareness and less stress to avoid the disease to come.
There are few limitations in Yoga Nidra therapeutically, however it can assist with:
- Tension and stress relief
- Post-traumatic stress
- Fatigue and Insomnia
- Pain management
- Surgery: prep or recovery
- Mental health: limitation in depression and psychoses
Clarity and calm will arise with Nidra practice. When it seems you do not have time to practice, those are the days you need it most. When disturbed, uncomfortable or restless it will have the effects into your deepest levels of consciousness or will take you to the rest you need.
